Post 46: Steel Fixing, Tanks Formed and Waterproofing Details
The first 18 tonnes of slab steel are craned in, the sewer and stormwater tanks are formed in Rediwall, and the water stops and Sika waterproofing are being detailed before the tanks are backfilled.
Post 45: Blinding Down, Set-Out Done and Planning the Tanks
The blinding slab is down and set out, the sewer and stormwater tank walls have arrived, and the waterproofing for the tanks and basement walls is being designed ahead of a 250 m³ monolithic pour.
Post 44: Hand-Shaping Thickenings and Starting the Drainage
A week of careful work you can't see much of: hand-shaping the slab thickenings, setting height pins for the blinding, the first sheathed sewer pipe, and a dewatering failure that flooded the pits.
Post 43: Bulk Dig Done, Acoustic Screen Up and Setting Out the Slab
The bulk excavation is finished and the site finally looks like a building site. A DIY acoustic screen cuts the pump noise by about 25 dB, the grid goes up on the profiles, and the thickenings are being set out.
